Something that probably concerns you is security. What guarantee can I give that your critical business information will remain safe?
There are a several things I do to keep you and your information safe.
Some of the programs I use to increase security:
- Virus Protection, not just on my PC, but also on my phone, tablet and laptop. I make sure to keep them all regularly updated too!
- VPN to be sure that any data I send online is encrypted.
- Password Manager so that I’m not storing your passwords in a file or written down in my office. It also helps by creating strong passwords when required.
- Brave and Firefox browsers to prevent tracking
All the technology in the world doesn’t help if you don’t regularly update it. So I have a process of updating software as soon as possible after updates become available.
And of course, if you’re more old-school. I also use a cross-cut shredder to destroy any paperwork I may have that isn’t returned to you.
Lastly, in the horrible case that something may go wrong. I backup to the cloud on a regular basis, in fact most programs I use are in the cloud. I also make a point of backing up critical information (such as your files!) on a hard drive. Because you can’t be too careful.
If the worst does actually happen, I’m also insured. I carry both Professional Indemnity and Cyber Insurance, each to the value of $1M.
